Najib was not at Singapore talks on HSR, says Wee

Transport serve Wee Ka Siong has excused bits of hearsay that previous state leader Najib Razak went to the new gathering with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project.

He said just Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, global exchange and industry serve Azmin Ali, unfamiliar pastor Saifuddin Abdullah and himself met with Lee at the gathering in Singapore, along with important government officials.

“YB Pekan (Najib) was not there. I don’t have the foggiest idea where that tale about others being available at the gathering came from,” he told the Dewan Rakyat during his wrapping up discourse on the vehicle service’s 2022 Supply Bill.

He was addressed by RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) regardless of whether Najib was important for the gathering that went to Singapore.

Prior, when Wee said he would have rather not sit around idly talking on the matter any further, Rayer contributed, saying: “This is Parliament. Furthermore we really want replies.”

“We haven’t had a Cabinet meeting yet. I’m anticipating that the prime minister should answer to the Cabinet on the consequence of the gathering on Friday,” Wee added.

Taking an inquiry from Ahmad Maslan (BN-Pontian) on when work on the HSR was relied upon to begin once more, Wee said there was no timetable at this point.

It was accounted for that Ismail had proposed new discussions to resuscitate the KL-Singapore HSR project that was rejected by the past Perikatan Nasional-drove (PN) organization.

In the mean time, Lee said the republic was available to new proposition from Putrajaya on the venture, however the HSR had been commonly ended by the two nations.

Last year, the PN-drove government rejected the venture and proposed in its place a KL-Johor HSR line.

Ismail visited Singapore on Monday to check the beginning of the inoculated travel path (VTL) between the two nations.
